Then you may know the hassle you have with “that person”. The one who is contrary and has no idea as to how their behaviour is affecting other people in your organisation. Most of us know someone who is really difficult to work with – not because they’re bad at their job necessarily, but because people can’t get along with them. You might hear people say “You think they’d get the message by now†– but it simply doesn’t work that way. And someone having a word with them often doesn’t work either because they just take it all the wrong way.
You can always bring up their behaviour in their formal review - but this is a problem because people often don’t take notice of what their boss says, they prefer feedback from their peers, but this needs to be done in a constructive way! 360 degree feedback will often get through to someone, when all else fails.. Richard Oppenheimer, Director of Appraisal360 said, “It’s very hard to hide from something if everybody is saying the same thing.â€
