electricity deregulation?
You may recall that the deregulation of telephony services lowered prices and improved service. Texas consumers are now seeing the same results with the deregulation of Texas electricity. In the past, electricity supply was a monopoly in Texas and consumers were not able to choose their preferred provider. With the deregulation of Texas electricity, Texas’s consumers can now choose their Retail Electricity Provider (REP) in the same way they can choose their telephone service provider, providers such as:
- Just Energy Texas
- Liberty Power Corporation
- Mpower Retail Energy
- Occidental Power Marketing
- Reliant Energy Retail Services
- Reliant Energy Solutions
- Starlight Electric
- TriEagle Energy
- Utility Choice Electric
- WTU Retail Energy
- Xcel Energy
A business electric savings plan can be easily customized for the specific needs of individual business. There are a number of issues to take into consideration when choosing the right Texas electricity provider for your business such as the level of electric usage during the peak periods electricity of business operations, which days of the week and times of the year your business uses the most electricity. These factors will be taken into account when your electric aggregation and supply is customized for you.

When nationalizing, the prices became the same for everybody, enabling an electrical revolution in small remote areas. Today we still have on of lowest cost for electricity in the world, and our electricity is green.
Plus, the profit goes to the government for provincial debt repaying and social programs.

I’m (at least generally) a fan of market forces, but I have a hard time believing that any pols are gonna run with the dereg ball for a little while–even if the situations don’t parallel the finance markets.

Polutes to constuct?? ok… renewable engery is the only way forward, in the UK wee have tones of wind farms, wave power, solar & nuclear, ok it may only provide use with 15-”05 of our energy, but it is helping. Frequently you will here of a school who’ve just installed a wind turbine and are making money buy selling the electric back to the grid.
Re-newable energy will save our children…. fossil fuels just won’t!
great post

like Low Interest mentioned, you can choose alternative sources.
Also, this will allow for competition between companies, giving lower prices to the consumers.
