  • Life insurance is incredibly cheap these days, it makes me wonder how these insurers are making money. Do people even buy whole life insurance any more?

My husband and I bought insurance at <$0.30/$1000. This means that a $500,000 policy would only cost ~$150/year if you’re healthy. It was a no brainer.

  • This is sooo true. My best friend lost her husband earlier this year and it was not only an emotional disaster but a financial one as well. They were not insured and he was the bread winner of the family.

The need is obviously there, and on term insurance there are really some deals out there even if you’re older. One thing to consider is getting a policy on children, they are obscenely cheap and cover can be a god-send in the most unfortunate event of losing a child.

Very nice article on Life Insurance. One should have insurance for his/her life. Now-a-days, it is a must. There is no guarantee for life.

  • For me the ideal type of life insurance would work like an endowment. If you pay in for years and never make a claim, you should be entitled to a capital sum after a period of time. I never thought it was fair that you pay so much money and those big corporations just get to keep your hard-earned cash.
