Some homes are built on large pieces of land while others are situated on smaller building lots. The size of the parcel of land will definitely influence the price of the real estate. The location of the land will also influence the price of the property. These are details a person should check into when inquiring about real estate.
If a person is buying real estate in a city or large town, they are unlikely to find a house on a large parcel of land. Most homes in cities and large towns are built on a building lot equal to the homes on the street or even block. If an individual is looking for a home in the city, on a large piece of land, they will pay a very high price for it. Homes in a city or large town normally have a tiny piece of land in the front and a small piece of land on back of the house.
People who buy real estate in the country or in rural areas are guaranteed a sizeable parcel of land with their purchase. Because rural areas are not as congested, houses are normally built on a bigger piece of land. Houses are not necessarily built in rows as in the city. There are many reasons people choose real estate that includes a large piece of land. Perhaps they may have vehicles or a camper, maybe snowmobiles or a boat, each of these require space for storage. Owning a sizable parcel of land provides room for items such as these. Besides vegetable gardens, many individuals desire to have flower gardens. Yes, many city folk have flower beds in their front or back garden but the space is limited due to the size of the land. If owning a large piece of land, a person can plant trees, shrubs and all sorts of different flowers.
Not everybody needs a large piece of land. Owning land means work. Many individuals are not prepared or willing to spend the time necessary to maintain a large parcel of land. For these people, buying a home in a city or town wouldn’t pose a problem. When searching for real estate, it is essential to figure out how much land you actually need.
Wonderfully said! if you don’t want the work of large trees, shrubs, lawns, etc. go for the least maintence possible.
My wife and I bought a moble home for our retirement and couldn’t be much happier.
The plan is to pay for our coach and then move it to an area where we know there will be little (if any) interest in people settling in that area.
The price of real estate there is way low when compared to the rest of the country, and is only hours from the beach, and our favorite city.
It’s a little off the wall to live there (70 miles to the nearest grocery store), but the air is clean and the traffic almost non existent. James
For most people, excess land is a huge time and money drain.
It is a time drain because you will need to spend a large amount of additional time maintaining the property. Even if you have open scrub land, occasionally you will need to remove dead/old growth to avoid fires, etc.
It is a money drain because of the upkeep, taxes and likely distance one must travel for services (shopping, etc.). It also will require more money to bring needed services to the property (electricity, phone, internet, etc.)
Someone considering a large piece of land really needs to consider the overall costs of time and money when purchasing.

Many older people are starting to sell their homes for their retirement and purchase a Motor Home. I’m quite the adventurous type and think this would make for a great travel experience. Its a convenient way to travel, relatively economical and great fun.
I know this because I have done some motor home travel with my friends before.
Motor home travel also seems to cover quite a diverse range of age groups. From the young and adventurous to the retired.
I think everyone should at least try it.
