Identity theft refers to impersonation of a person with the intent of making illegal transactions and participating in unlawful activities.
Identity theft can be a very difficult experience for the victims. You lose savings from your bank accounts, your credit cards may be misused, and loans may be taken out in your name. Add to this the mess your credit ratings will be left in and the loss of reputation, and it is easy to understand why identity theft can be more distressing than simple stealing of cash and valuables.
